CraveLoop
Cookies and browser storage
Last updated: 26 September 2026
This notice explains the browser technology used by the current CraveLoop MVP. Cookies and local storage are different technologies, even though browser settings often group them together.
Cookieless Plausible and optional Google cookies
Plausible loads whenever you visit a page and does not set cookies. Before you allow Google Analytics, CraveLoop sets no Google analytics cookies. If you allow Google Analytics, it may set the first-party cookies _ga and _ga_GNYEGN1XKE to distinguish visitors and sessions; each typically persists for up to two years, subject to the Google Analytics property and browser settings. CraveLoop does not enable advertising features or use account, payment, personalization, advertising, or social-tracking cookies.
Local browser storage
The fake-order experience uses local browser storage for fictional dish selections and cart state. Separately, craveloop:analytics-consent in localStorage records granted or denied so the site can respect your Google Analytics choice after a refresh. Your choice controls Google Analytics only. The choice value is not sent to Plausible or Google Analytics and cannot place an order or charge you.
How to manage it
Use the cart controls to remove fictional selections. Use Google Analytics choices in the footer to allow, reject, or withdraw Google Analytics consent. Withdrawal disables Google Analytics, removes accessible _ga cookies and the Google tag, then reloads the page. Plausible continues its cookieless aggregate measurement. You can also block or delete site data in browser settings; deleting the preference makes the site ask again.
Hosting and third parties
Plausible loads whenever you visit a page from plausible.shipsolo.io and receives page URL, referrer, browser or device information, pageview data and ordinary connection data such as IP address. It also sends engagement events with time spent on the page and approximate scroll depth. Only after you allow it does the Google tag load for Google Analytics measurement G-GNYEGN1XKE and receive pageview or interaction data. If you reject Google Analytics, its tag is not requested; Plausible continues to operate. Hosting providers still process requests needed to serve and secure the site.
Changes and questions
We will update this notice before adding another analytics provider, advertising, or other non-essential storage. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
Saved guides and feature measurement
When you save a guide, its public identifier is stored in craveloop:saved-guides:v1 on this browser. Clear it in Your saved guides or in browser settings. Daily suggestions use the device date without storing a visitor identifier. Feature events measure cart additions, virtual checkout and completion, card downloads, picker results, guide saves/removals, shared links, daily-dish opens and recipe-link clicks. Each event includes only its fixed name and the page language, not cart contents or picker filters. Plausible receives these events with its normal page and connection data; Google Analytics receives them only while consent is granted. Sharing sends a public guide URL through the sharing app you choose; copied links contain campaign tags, not a personal identifier.
Dinner decider
Saved only when you press Save. Sharing includes the selected public dish IDs in the link. It does not create a live poll or share your identity.
The shortlist uses craveloop:shortlist:v1. Clear list removes the saved copy from this browser. We count additions, saves, copied shortlist links, shared-list opens, comparison starts and completed comparisons using fixed event names and language only. No search text, selected dish list or comparison choices are sent as custom analytics properties. Shared lists are independent copies, not live votes.
